So you won't have legal headaches when you need to use them in TV production. And many other places for that matter. Like movies, websites, physical distribution, digital downloads, DJ remixes, commercials, corporate use, video games and karaoke. Almost all tracks are delivered as multitrack, so you can use just a nice string arrangement from your favorite song, or just the right loop?
However, in accordance with copyright law, you must obtain a license for the composition (see below). But this is no different from using music in general. We make sure that the rights to the recording are in place.

The fine print.
A musical work is divided into two categories:
Composition: The song as written by the composers and lyricists.
The recording: which consists of any artist or musician performing a composition
Both composers and the recording are protected by copyright law and require you to obtain permission to use each of them in your project. You should therefore contact your local music rights society and/or the music publisher of any song (except Public Domain songs) to obtain the necessary composer rights for your project.
The recording is typically copyrighted by the producer or record label that owns it. We own the recordings of over 66,000 songs, so you don't need to seek permission to use them if you buy from us.
